How do I transfer my games to a new SD card?

I just got a new 3DS XL with a 4GB SD card to replace my old 3DS with a 2GB SD card. I did a system transfer but to play my downloaded copy of Super Mario 3D Land on my 3DS XL I have to insert my 2GB SD card... How do I get that game onto my new 4GB card? Basically I want to be able to play the game on my 3DS XL with the 4GB card inserted.

Thanks,

Matt

  • You need a card reader, which connects to your PC by USB and lets you see the contents of an SD card. There are many brands on the market, some can read multiple cards, others only do SD or Micro-SD. Here's an example of what you need.

You could copy the contents of the 2GB card to your PC and write it to the 4GB.

  • yes, it's easy to do that. i do a similar thing to you . transfer the record of the game which i played into other SD card. just find a card reader, inser your SD card into card reader, copy it into computer, then copy the files on the computer into another SD card. then all will be fine.

If you can play Super Mario 3D Land, i guess you must have a 3ds flashcard ,it seems that some 3ds flashcard comes with a card reader. just do it!

  • I wasn't sure of the answer, but assuming that Cantra is correct, I'd just like to add that some computers have SD card readers built in. You might need an SD adapter.
