If your cable company's tech made a mistake?

When he came out to my house, he somehow connected the cable TV when he should have just installed my high speed Internet connection. I have not been this free cable TV connection for over a year. Is it safe to call the cable company, and tell them something like, "I see that on the Web, under my account info, it's showing that I have cable TV on my account. This should not be as I did not order the cable TV, please disconnect it." Or will be better to just continue until the cable company notices it? I need to cancel my account at this company anyway in about a month.

If I tell them, I'm concerned that they might think I somehow did the technical work on my street to steal cable TV connection

  • More than likely it wasn't a mistake. Half the time the techs don't care either way. I've had a cable guy come to my door saying he would hook me up for 50 bucks no questions asked no paper work. I wish they would come by my house today, cause cable is not available where I live now. lol

  • hi augustin, ya know this is on the heading of walking into a store and getting the wrong change and not telling the clerk he gave me too much change so what to do? what to do. there was a time in my life i would have said to not say a word and get it cheap. but i grew up and faced a responsibility so do the honest thing and call and speak to customer services and explain mayby they did it on purpose so let's say for instance that you cable bill and your internet bill are both the same so you added a television service the same time they installed your internet but you should know and how much more can it cost you. you could be looking at a benefit but let me tell you i have a friend that went out climbed the pole and hooked up his cable and for three months got cable for free so he thought until they received an outragous bill they called and refused to pay it. the cable company sued them ruined their credit rating and all because they could get over on the cable company. not a very good story but it is true. good luck i hope i was helpful to you

  • talked to the manager or supervisor and explain ur issue then at the end of conversation it is what is is or if that dont solved ur issue find another provider after of ur contract
