I had my nose pierced and I couldn't wear a nose ring while I was at work. By the end of my shift, if I didn't put a "place holder" in, it would start to close up. When I finally did decide to take it out for good, it closed completely in a couple of days and there is not one scar or mark on my nose.
I say go ahead and get your nose pierced because it can always heal if you change your mind!
Yes they do if you don't leave it in long enough. It's just like if you pierced your ears. It's there for a LONG time if you keep the earrings in forever..ha
if you don't leave it in long enough (and forever) it will close up and leave a mark there. Like a belly ring. You have to leave it in long enough for it to stay there

yes it does close up, its just like ear piercing
i did not wear my nose ring because it was a bit stuffy and hard
for me to breathe, then it closed up about 1 month later because i washed my face and water went through the hole and it blocked it
hope this helps
they do close up, it takes a different times depending on the person
Yes, it will take a while, and it would look really weird for a few months.
