Yes it can..... It can wear the enamel and gums off your teeth and your teeth can have a large chance to decay from the metal contact... Also if your not careful it can chip your teeth... So try not to play with your piercing as much....Or take it out when you eat so u wont bite it accidently... I suggest if you get your lip/tongue pierced to use plastic jewelry. It can also depend on the length of the piercing... When i got my lip pierced the labret wasn't a good fit it would rub on my tooth and it made it real sensitive to hot and cold stuff so i went back to where i got it done and the guy made it the right size...Haven't had any problems ever since....I've had it for 6 yrs and my teeth and gums are in great condition.... just keep it clean and take good care of it....
Bioplast is delicate and would not harm tooth as lots, and there are 'medilab' labrets that have delicate stuff on the lower back of steel studs. yet those are not in many cases used as preliminary rings. in case you flow to an experienced piercer, they're going to offer it reliable placement, the place it is going to possibly no longer touch your tooth besides. i detect jewelry touch below labrets. and you are able to consistently get a vertical labret rather.

IN THE BACK TEETH THE WAY YOU CHEW CANNOT BE CONTROLLED SO YOU CAN'T JUDGE HOW YOUR TEETH WILL CI9ME DOWN ON THE METAL BALL ON THE STEM.
THIS OFTEN BREAKS TEETH SO A CROWN MUST BE DONE.
ENAMEL IS AS HARD AS GLASS SO IT CAN'T BE HARMED BY RINGS, ETC.
I'VE DONE MANY CROWNS FOR SUCH PATIENTS.
A TONGUE STUD JUST ISN'T WORTH THIS WORRY.

Yes, they can. Not only can they crack teeth but they can damage them as well when the person bites down on the studs by accident.
