I have experienced this. 2 years ago, in the throes of heart break, I was drinking too much & I took an expired Darvoset to knock me out so I could sleep. I woke up to the alarm & realized I could not turn it off. My arm wouldn't work, much less my fingers. As I gained more clarity, I realized NOTHING would work. I could not move at all. I think my eyes were able to look around, & my brain was working fine. I tried to force my arm to move & was able to get it to jump spasmodically. I could not vocalize, but instead made very primal types of screams. I sounded, & must have looked, severely retarded. I had absolutely no muscle control. This slowly abated & somehow I had been able to crawl across frozen ground to my neighbors house.
The EMTs found nothing wrong.
I have type 1 diabetes, & when I recounted the story to my nurse, she said that it could have been an extreme low blood sugar during the night. I have spoken with 2 other diabetic friends who have had similar experiences.
It was certainly the most frightening morning of my life. I am sorry that you have experienced it, also.
I highly recommend seeing a doctor, even if nothing conclusive comes of it. Perhaps they could offer you some insight.
Good luck!
Thats some weird sh!t man! Never had that.
I freak when Ive been laying on my arm and it becomes paralised and numb.
that sounds like hypnogagic hallucinations (its an infrequent sleep disorder)
if it happens again, see a neurologist - they are the ones that order sleep studies.
are you whacked GO TO THE DOCTOR( that was my attempt at humor) but seriously stroke or heart attack comes to mind. I know its tempting to say to yourself that whatever it was is gone now but ............GO TO THE DOCTOR
