9th Grade Algebra Hw Help!?

Hey everyone! I need help with this question,

Directions: Evaluate & then write as a verbal expression.

31.) 1/5 + 3/5

(but it is not written like that, it's written as a fraction.. like 1 is the numerator and 5 is the denominator it's just because I can't type it out, lol)

Update:

@Troll: I'm not in 9th grade, It's a REVIEW because it's the beginning of the school year. sh*t, dude.

  • Well, since the denominators are both 5, you can just add them as it is. 1/5+3/5 would be 4/5.

As a verbal expression, the question would be one-fifth plus three-fifths and your answer would be four-fifths. :)

  • 4/5? And that's a way fractions can be written :). I'm not understanding about the verbal expression. Like Mike had 1.5 of a pie and Sam had 3/5. They had 4/5 of pie altogether.

Don;t listen to the troll. I still have algebra.

  • =4/5

One fifth plus Three fifths equals Four Fifths.

  • 2 cases x, or (2 cases 3y) minus x = -20 6x - x = -20 5x=-20 x=-4 upload the x's, then upload the y's, then the final numbers. 2x + 3x= 5x; 3y - 5y= -2y; 9 + 4 = 13 5x - 2y = 13 via fact the respond is small, then the x's and y's would be too. wish this helped! solid success!:-)

  • LOL, you're in 9th grade and you still have Algebra? SMH
