You may not be able to find some softwares like Memories Disc, Hpcoretech..
IF you have an error message installing. Do a search using exact error message on the hp website and try downloading the software from the website instead of usign the cd
if add/ remove won't do it then go to start.all programs and find the printer in there and see if it has an uninstall wizard, or manually folder by folder, then reinstall doesn't the install overwrite the existing?? Do you get that option?
I would imagine you change the option ' Print test page after new Cartridge = Yes ' to ' Print test page after new Cartridge = No' . Sorta standard stuff in the ol' HPs .

You need to go to add/remove programs and remove it
While in add/remove programs, remove everything that pertains to your printer or you will not get a good install
You may also contact HP, on how to do a level 4 uninstall
