Well, I usually better like to give answers than to ask questions; however if you can answer both above questions with "yes" you won't need a passport to go to Canada from the United States as Green Card holder.

You need a passport to enter Canada by plane (and by land and water) and possibly a Visa also (depending where you are coming from).
If you are flying from Halifax NS to Vancouver BC, then you don't need a passport.
