'Do not disconnect' screen is constant.?

When I tried to sync my iPod tonight it wouldn't appear in iTunes or on my desktop but still came up with the 'do not disconnect' screen. Since I couldn't see anywhere to eject the iPod I just pulled it out and was going to try again. Now it is still saying 'do not disconnect' and won't turn off, when I plugged it back into the computer it did nothing and the hard drive isn't spinning.

Any ideas about how to get rid of the 'do not disconeect' message? Thanks

Update:

Ah thank you sooooo much. I thought it was a goner!!!

  • You may need to reset your iPod.

  • that's many times brought about with the aid of a difficulty with the equipment memory, or probable the video card. The memory is greater in all probability--the equipment complains long and loud if it won't be able to locate any usable memory, as there is no thank you to even start up the boot technique whilst that's the case. The motherboard itself would additionally be the priority

  • Hold down the up button and the middle button...it should reset your ipod without losing any music...mine does this once in a while....hope this helps! :)
