easy math problem!!!?

A square rug lies in the middle of a rectangular room. There are 4 feet of uncovered floor on each of 2 opposite sides of the rug and 3 feet of uncovered floor on each of the other 2 sides. Find a polynomial expression for the area of the room in terms of x, the side length of the rug.

  • There is uncovered area 4 feet on each side of the rug or a total of 8 feet in the direction of the length and 3 feet on each side or a total of 6 feet in the direction of the width of the room.

    Length of the room, L = x+8

    Width of the room, W = x+6

    Area of the room, A = LW

    A = (x+8)(x+6) = x² + 14x + 48

  • if there is uncovered area of 4 feet on one side and 3 feet on the other than

    L= (x+3)

    W= (x+4)

    area of a square is x times x. X being similar sides of a square and now we must add the extra feet mentioned so

    Area of a rectangle is Length (L) x Width (W)

    (x+3)(x+4) = x^2 + 7x + 12

    If you just need the area of the rectangle you do not need to add both sides.

  • 14 + 12 + 5 = 31 so 2 pupils are donning the two a) 14+12-2 = 24 b) 14-2 = 12 c) 12-2 = 10 Please observe that alot of persons will answer 26 for the 1st question, even though it is faulty: 29 - 5 = 24 (minus of persons who arent donning pink OR blue 14+12 = 26 there is 26 blue and pink colorations yet only 24 pupils this potential 2 human beings would desire to be donning the two colorations as I purely reported there is only 24 human beings so what number pink and blue = 24 pink no longer blue = pink human beings much less the persons who donning the two blue no longer pink = blue human beings much less the persons who donning the two
