Made a tax mistake - Can I retract?

My husband and I are separated, but he begged me to file with him so he would not back owe taxes. I did this, but it will not go thru the system till the 30th.

Out of anger, he claims he will keep all of the money and I will not get a dime for MY CHILD (not his)

I had my own business and decided to DO THE RIGHT THING and report my income filing my OWN return,

How can I tell HR Block to change this info?

I want to be taken off the return completely.

We are legally seperated....does this mean I can file HOH?

  • What a mess. You file a single tax return, not one with your husband and another for your business.

Until your divorce is finalized, you MUST file Married Filing Separately (MFS) or Married Filing Jointly (MFJ). Since you were married on December 31, 2012, those are your only options. Once the divorce is finalized, you file Head Of Household (if you get the kids) or Single if your ex husband gets the kids.
