Do you need to notify DMV if you subtract a car from your family plan insurance policy?
I live in Ohio and have a family plan auto insurance with 3 cars in it. I use my motorcycle all the time in the summer so I decide to subtract my car from the plan so I could save like around $600 dollars a year. I use Geico and I can easily go online and subtract or add a car from the policy. The problem is I don't know if I need to notify the DMV if I subtract a car from my plan. I've Googled about this and some place said I need to and some said don't. So, do I need to notify DMV?

No, but I would put it in Suspension, not Cancellation. This will keep the policy live so when you need to use the vehicle that is registered to you in the winter, it will have continuous coverage (storage). Other wise it will show a gap in coverage and your rates will increase.
Oh, and no you do not need to contact the DMV.

You'll have to contact the Ohio DMV on this one and your insurer. If you remove insurance from a car, the registration becomes invalid and you may have to turn in the plates. Then you'll have to go through the issues involved in re-registering and re-insuring the car.
Some states require the insurance company and/or the owner to notify them if a car becomes uninsured (AZ does). But it's not a real problem if you go ahead and do it yourself.
It will have cntinus coverage..
