Well, ultimately, your final grade in the course it what matters the most. However, the quarter grades are apart of that final grade, and therefore they do matter. Work as hard as you can at the beginning of the year so you dont have to work your *** off at the end of the year struggling to raise your final mark.
Depending how your school functions but usually they take 1st and 2nd quarter grades and average them out to het your semester grade. Semester grades determine if you pass the class
