  • "my preventer inhaler is empty?" -- How is it that your inhaler is empty?? It's Proventil, by the way. This is albuterol sulfate.

"im not due to get my repeat prescription till tuesday..." -- It's called a refill.

"...is it ok not to use it for 4 days" -- This depends on what the instructions for use are and you haven't given us a clue as to what they are. If this is a rescue inhaler, then it's used (for example, every 6 hours) as needed. If this is routine, scheduled medication, then of course you will need it. Your pharmacy may allow an early refill but you'll have to contact them and work that out. You haven't indicated how often you need the albuterol.

Be absolutely certain you are using this med correctly and exactly as directed. Too frequent use can be dangerous and if you find yourself reaching for the inhaler more often than you should, you need to speak to your doctor. A longer acting bronchodilator, such as ipratropium, can be prescribed or perhaps a combination of the two (Combivent) can be used.

  • There apparently aren't any -I honestly have allergies and take steroid inhalers too and characteristic performed on condition that i replaced into very small -I requested my health worker if there have been any know lengthy time period impacts basically 2 weeks in the past and he suggested no. those inhalers were round for a lengthy time period and characteristic shown to be secure and effective. i have taken them on a daily basis of many years and that i reckon i'm very in good structure and healthful! in the experience that they make you sense extra ideal, then persist with them.
