A paradigm is an accepted theory. According to the scientific method, whenever an old theory is found to be wrong, it should be cast out and replaced with a newer better one. But alas people are all too human sometimes. They get emotionally attached to paradigms. They cannot always do what is right and give them up when they are disproved. So sometimes a paradigm shift cannot occur until all the old people supporting the old paradigm have died of old age.
I would not call this question redundant because I have not encountered it here before, unlike some of the questions you see asked every single day.
it can be as little as a single life changing event or it could a universal planetary changing event. it all depends on who is in tune with the greater cosmos.
personally, the day i saw Jesus in Some Glory was a paradigm change for me. the day i read a verse in the bibe was likewise a paradigm changer. however to the church as a whole, i think Acts 10:34-35, changes the custom and tradition of many that teach biblical hell fore everyone other than their own religious captivity.
for instance, the verse says God does not respect persons. studies on the idea of respect prove that respect is declared to be a sin. and whether rich or poor God will judge mankind on whether they feared HIM or did works of righteousness. notice in the verse that it says men of different nations!
It's a fundamental and drastic change in how a scientific theory operates. It's basically a huge leap or modification in the understanding of how something works.
