Abstract Algebra?
I'm seriously considering switching my major to mathematics, possibly for grad school, and was wondering what in the deuce abstract algebra is? What makes it so abstract? And can you give me an example AA problem with a solution? You can make it as simple as you want to. I just wanna know what the deuce abstract algebra is.

well... it is 'defined' to be the study of algebraic structures...
i can give you some links on Abstract algebra... and you can see for yourself...(honestly, it is not that difficult of a specialization... it really just requires interest)

see also, groups, rings , fields and vector spaces...
i had studied this and i tell you...
analysis is harder than algebra (for most students...)

Abstract Algebra examines rings and groups. Matrices, polynomials, etc are all cases of the general concepts of rings and groups. From what I understand it is the study of the general structure of mathematics.
