  • ln3x - ln15 = 2

    ln(3x/15) = 2

    ln(x/5) = 2

    What number has a natural log of 2? You can look this up in a table, get it from a calculator, or

    remember the definition of a logarithm.

    The logarithm of a number to a base is the power to which the base must be raised to generate the number, so e^2 is the number you want.

    ln(x/5) = 2 = ln 7.389

    x/5 = 7.389

    x = 36.945

  • 3x/15 = e^2

    x = 5e^2
