What answers did everyone get for some questions?
Probability?
Surds?
the surface area of the 3D shape? i put 96cm squared.
The second to last question about y=f(x-2) and y=2f(x)? something like that anyway..
i thought i did really well.. but when i came out, people had different answers..
Update:i moved the 2 along to the right as well..
and so i think i wrote (4,3)
and for the second part i doubled so i got (4,6)
think thats wrong..
probability i got 0.44..so yay!
surds i got something like.. 5+2root3

i cant remember what i got for the first part of the probability question, but i think i got 0.44 for the second part [probaility of only one of them passing]
the question about graph transformations i got something along the lines of
y=f(x-2) moved the x coordinates 2 places to the right [i.e. increased the x coordinate by 2]
and y=2f(x) was a stretch in the y direction by scale factor 2 [i.e. the y coordinate doubled]
I can't remember the surd and probability question, but overall the exam paper was simple.. too simple!! for a second, i thought i was doing the wrong (foundation) paper because the exam was just too easy. for the surface area question, first you have to find the scale facter and then square the scale factor in order to find the answer and cube the scale factor to find the volume. yeah, you got the first answer right for transformation question - it is indeed (4,3), however your answer to the following question is incorrect because the movement would be only in the y-direction, which means the answer would be (2,6) instead of (4,6). you answer would fit for this transformation ---> y=2f(x+2)!! hope it helped.. good luck everyone with the calculator paper!!
For surds, I got 5+3 root 3...i think

And (4,3) then (2,6) for the second to last
What did everyone get for question 27? The one about the volume of the cone and cyclinder being equal...I got 3x squared, but apparently the answers actually 6x...=S
But good luck for the other paper! =D
For the probability one I put something like 12/25 and 8/25.
The surds one, I forgot how to do these so I just guessed.
The surface area one I put something like 68cm squared.
and I put 0,3 and 4,6 for the curved graph one.
Don't have a clue if they're right lol.
5+3 root 3 was the right answer for the surds question. the last question was x=2. for second last question, the f(x). for a) you move it two to the right, for b) you raise it 2 up becuase you x by 2. simple test.
Twas hard. I just put something like 4,6 for the y=2f(x) and 0,1 for the other? I think i done it well...
