Transfer photos to portable hard drive?
I'm having a problem transferring photos to my portable hard drive because my photos are "write protected". I'm not quite sure what that means, as I am almost positive that this became a problem AFTER reformatting my hard drive. That, and my photos aren't "write protected"... whatever that means.
It's a Western Digital portable hard drive.
So... what exactly does "write protected" mean?
How do I change my settings so that my photos aren't write protected?
And, does this have anything to do with using the hard drive before formatting it?
I have to turn in photos by Monday, or I'm screwed.

Open properties for the files, and change the Attributes.
