  • let the price of smaller bag be x cents, then the price of the bigger bag is (x+90)c:

    5(x+90)+3x=1722

    8x=1722-450 = 1272

    x=159 c= $1,59

  • ahh!

    small bag of chip was 90¢, bought 3 small bags=3x90 ¢=$2.70

    then bought 5 big bags but all of them cost $17.22

    use $17.22-$2.70=$14.52

    so all big bags cost =$14.52

    and small bag cost=$2.70

    then how much each big bag cost and each small bag cost?

    all big bag=$14.52

    so $14.52 divide by 5, becaus eyou bought 5 bags of them=$2.904 but you have to put only 2 desimo=$2.90 each

    so the answer is cost of a small bag is 90cent each

    so what? you already said small bag cost 90 cent each , why you asked how much its cost of small chip

    if you meant how much cost of all small bags of chips is =$2.70
