GTX 680 a good video card?

I built my first PC and bought a Nvidia 680 GTX. I also bought Arma 3 and started playing Alpha but whenever I set my graphics to max it lags a little bit. Is the 680 Strong enough to handle this game or should I have gotten the 690?

  • Until the GTX Titan was released, the GTX 680 was the fastest single GPU on the market. It's still ridiculously fast. The Arma 3 alpha probably runs poorly because it's an ALPHA and it's unfinished.

  • Your lag isn't just your graphics card.

Could be a bottleneck in the processor.

Could be, and most likely, is the internet. Also, Arma 3 is in Alpha, yes? It's not bloody finished. Of course it runs like crap.

There is no game i can think of that a 680 isn't complete overkill for

  • inspite of the undeniable fact that the GTX680 is a much better card than the 670, in case you're putting 2 enjoying cards into SLI mode you would be getting insane overall performance from 2 670s -- so i won't see why you may spend the extra funds on a pair of 680s

  • I have a Radeon 7870 that is good for all games. Basically any video card over $200 is very good for gaming. Cost=speed in video cards.

  • the 690 can run anything in the world, but costs way too much.

All nvidia cards are overpriced in my opinion.

You should get an amd card like the amd radeon 7770

and also if you're on a budget get an intel i5 (https://www.google.com/#hl=en&safe=off&sclient=psy...

And if you're not on a budget get any intel i7 4 core processer
