New graphics card no signal?

I have an hpe pavillion 1214 and I took out the old card and psu and replaced it. The old card and new 650w corsair tx650 psu worked but the new card and new psu does not. It runs and there is no beeping, I don't think this computer has an onboard graphics card. I turn it on and the fan on the sapphire radeon hd 7770 runs but I get no signal. I plugged it into the power supply and my old card works if I switch it back. I have no clue how to fix it but the new card gives me a no signal when I turn the computer on. The old card is an amd radeon hd 7450 and the new one is a sapphire amd radeon hd 7770. The psu is a corsair tx650.

Update:

Well I guess this is a problem because the card is 3.0 and my mobo is 2.0 so I'll just get a gtx 560ti I guess.

Update 3:

Yeah someone else told me the card might be faulty too so I might as well just buy a better card I guess and hope for the best.

  • Hi,

    ** Edited **

I would have thought that the card should have worked as a 3.0 should work in a 2.0 slot as they are backwardly compatible.

    Perhaps the card is faulty?

    ** End Edit **

Have you made sure the card is seated in the PCIe slot correctly?

Have you connected the 6 pin power supply?

Is the fan on the card turning?

  • Try installing the latest drivers for that card. Go to the manufacturers website and find the drivers. Just install them and if it doesn't work then either you card is broken or your motherboard has a bad pci slot. If you're CPU doesn't have onboard video then plug in your old card, download and install the drivers, and try plugging in the card again.

  • incorrect drivers or no motive force at enthusiastic approximately that card is the main probable answer. Your card incorporate a motive force disc? Older Dell show screen and new radeon card perhaps? I even have had subject concerns with those 2 manufacturers no longer desirous to artwork jointly interior the previous.
