Do I have a pshycological problem?

Lately I have been trying to make myself as safe as possible and trying to keep my life long instead of doing fun stuff while it lasts(Like skydiving or going to europe, but I don't have cancer or anything! But you never know............). I also don't feel safe in the shower when all the lights aren't on, I like to only keep the shower light on to save electricity, but then it makes me feel insecure when it's only light on. I have also been hearing things, like when I take a shower(which is in my basement) it sounds like a woman is being raped upstairs(even though I don't currently have a girlfriend, so this would be an incredibly strange predicament) but then when I go upstairs everything is fine(like it doesn't even seem like the rapist was ever there). I have also had mild anxiety disorder recently, but I have "cured" it with mind body relaxation, for the most part. And now I get this stuff happening much less. But there still might be something wrong...........Anyone know what?

Update:

@kristy I have been taking Inositol, but that is meant to combat anxiety, and depression. So it can't be that. But it could be my other drug, Melatonin, to help with sleep, I heard in rare cases, side effect can be increased anxiety or depression. Could be that, best to get another sleep pill!

Update 3:

@SavyBones really? Well I don't know why my imagination would create that noise, I'm not a rapist and would never think of raping a woman. I am also not sexist so I would not enjoy my mind thinking that(thank god). So why could I get these noises? Maybe the rapist is actually a killer, and the woman's screaming because the killer has a gun to her head asking where I am, and I'm misunderstanding fake noises...........

  • Pshycological problem, I don't believe so, not seriously. Anxiety and Paranoia are two more likely culprits. The sound of a woman being raped is possibly just a sound your shower makes you are interpreting wrong because of being anxious. I used to have a shower that made me think a really old phone was ringing. If you said that you have recently had an anxiety disorder-they don't just go away. Mind and body relaxation is great and great in the fact that it did help, but if it is affecting your day to day life, talk to your doctor. They can prescribe medications to control this. There are massage therapies and things of that nature if you don't want to go that route, just read up on it and as him/her for advice on the best therapy for you. Also, any new medications that you possibly have started can also cause and trigger anxiety.

  • id say see a doctor about those ghosts you got in your shower. haha j/k but i would see a doctor and tell them what is going on. as for the sounds i think you are pry hearing something that sounds like water going through the pipes and you might be changing the sound in your mind and twisting it into the screaming its easy with the sound of the water running to muffle it and let your imagination run away.

  • First no you don't you might just be paraniod and the thing in the shower might mean you hear ghosts.....here look up the history of your house, apartment or whatever and if your still not sure see a therapist they can always help relieve the mind...plus it might be stress so yea
