He's a Great Pyrenees, about 8 weeks old, was rescued from an abusive backyard breeder who planned to drown him. Couldn't get a good picture as the flash was bothering him but you can always see the whites of his eyes, almost like they're bulging, his eyes also sometimes aren't symmetrical- like he has a lazy eye and when he sleeps often his eyelid will droop open. Is this normal? Thanks!

  • I think you should be questioning a Vet about this, but dogs eyes do move depending on which direction they're looking. Also, sometime when a dog/puppy is sound asleep, their eyes are sometimes not totally closed and you can see the whites like in your last picture. With that said, if an eye or both eyes seem to *drift* outward from time to time, that's called Exotropia (wall-eye) and there's really no harm in that from my understanding. If the eyes tend to drift inward, almost looking cross-eyed, I believe that is called Esotropia. You can Google both and see what you think, but that's still no excuse for not taking the puppy to a Vet to be examined.

  • Yess the dogs eyes are fine lol. Thats just how dogs are, especially ones that have an abundance of extra fur around their necks, and he definately does.

  • for a Great Pyrenees....yes he looks normal. My business partner had one. Big ole droopy eyes. Have him checked at a vet for everything anyway.

  • Yes. That just means your puppy is going to sleep. Their eyes roll back into their head while falling asleep.

  • Yes my dogs eyes used to do that

  • You & your dog need to stop smoking weed.
