Let Consuela's age be C. Pepe's age is therefore C+25, and Guillermo's age is 3C. The equation will read C + (C+25) + 3C = 90. Combine all the C's to give 5C + 25 = 90. Subtract 25 from both sides to give 5C = 65. Divide both sides by 5 to give C = 13. Consuela is 13 years old, Pepe is 38 years old, and Guillermo is 39 years old. The sum of these is 90 (check).
suppose, consuela is x years old
so, pepe is x+25 years old
and
guillermo is x*3 times old = 3x years old
now,
if x + (x+25) + 3x = 90
it means
x + x + 25 + 3x = 90
5x +25 =90
5x = 90-25
5x = 65
x = 65/5 = 13
so, Consuela is 13 years old
Pepe is 13+25 = 38 years old
Guillermo is 3*13 = 39 years old
