Song ideas for very contemporary dances?
I love dance, especially extremely contemporary styled choreography, and I'm looking for songs that sound interesting/sad/creepy that could work with my contemporary dance ideas.
My ideas are mostly about pain, and unbearable struggles with lots of taboo things, like cutting and abuse. I like to choreograph about trying to pretend you're okay when you're not, losing your mind, addictions, and lots of really demented stuff (for example I am choreographing a dance to Marry Me by Emilie Autumn and it reminds me of a happy suicide).
I am particularly interest in a song that would work well with a self-harm themed dance.
Preferably no popular songs. I would LOVE some music with no lyrics, but lyrics are acceptable.
This was probably more detail then needed. But any ideas you have for some good, interesting dance music would be much appreciated!
