How to do a high side ponytail?

What I'm really asking is how much to the side do you make a side ponytail? Do you make it just a little bit behind your ear or a lot?

    Not too far or it looks a little 70's-ish. It probably depends on your head shape/size, as well. For myself, I put mine about half way between the center of my head and ear. If I do a bun instead of a ponytail, I move it a little closer to the middle of my head (away from the ear).

    You know that corner on your head when it turns from the back of your head to the side? You can go on top of that or a little to the back. anywhere onthe side past that corner is too much
