dis-advantages democracy?

  • First off, true democracy is mob rule. The United States for example, is a Representative Republic. In which even the least, or the minority, has equal representation, not a democracy, as some people believe

So the biggest disadvantage of true democracy, is majority rule. If you are left handed, and the majority is right handed, if any issue comes up in that regard, you are at the mercy of the majority right handed people. In more practical terms, if by race, religion, sexual orientation, age, you are part of a minority, you are subject to the rules established by the majority.

Another disadvantage is class struggle. Unless everyone has a completely equal ownership of property, assets,. and income is the same for everyone, there will always be an upper, lower, and middle class. Whichever c lass is the majority, will have the ability to "vote the treasury". In other words, the largest class wull vote tax laws which will take more money away from the other two classes, and benefit them, resulting in higher living standards at the expense of the other classes, resulting in clashes between them.

True democracy, as seen in ancient Greece, creates a distrust of any leadership, or position of authority. Since in a democracy, groups or classes in the majority have power. But individually, all are equal. This then breaks down morality, resulting in refusal to except any law or authority from a higher source such as a God, or a governmental leader. Mainly because the majority rules and determines right from wrong, cultural acceptance, laws, and standards.

  • Democracy is based on the perception that majority opinion is the best opinion which is not true.

Democratic governments sometimes cannot take decisions which are unpopular but good for the country.

  • People who don't care enough about the issues vote...

People just follow what there party does rather than read the prop., learn about the issue, or find out the stance of a candidate.

Its better than a dictatorship, but people have to care enough to vote based on logic & deductive reasoning, rather than following other peoples or groups agendas blindly.

  • majority of people who are not estimated as a part of the government can not participate in summits for example, reflecting the important issues for the country ( not enough experience, knowledge or smth like that)

  • it gives power to half baked people. but, it is more just than military rule.
