Do CA Minors Get Overtime?

I am 17 and have a part time job, in California.

I worked 43 hours in one scheduled week,and was expecting overtime for those 3 extras hours.

When I received my check I noticed I didn't get paid overtime.

I talked to my manager and was told that because I'm a minor I don't "qualify" for overtime, therefore I got my normal pay for those 3 extras hours of work.

Is this legal\true? I've been searching California government sites for some answers, and haven't found anything specific to my situation.

    anyone in the US who is hourly must be paid OT after 40 hours, your boss is not being truthful with you
