Senior citizens do you guys like my poem?

And now I know the only compass that I need, is the one that leads back to you.

And I know the only compass that I need, oh is the one that leads back to you.

And the burning blisters on my feet will calm,

So hold me as I'm close to flaw.

Away from the warmth of your arms I stay,

off the radar and into harm's way.

Now I know the only compass that I need, oh is the one that leads back to you.

Yeah, coffee will raise the head again,

cokes that lead us from the pain.

Words just sit like empty scribbles,

such empty caffeinated widows.

Now I know the only compass that I need is the one that leads back to you.

Now I know the only compass that I need, oh is the one that leads back to you.

Dedicated to my only love

  • Interesting. Original poems are usually welcome here. It looks like you are trying to fit in, if so, then you'll be alright.

  • That was Fairly good. I am a Senior Citizen too, and perhaps you would like to read my effort.

It is Titled, Mary and JIm.

The wind blew cold, down the empty street,

And the old man hobbled on his weary feet

His Ragged coat hung like a sack

And winter shivers ran across his back

His face was Gaunt, and full of woe,

For him there was no place to go,

No welcoming home , at the end of the day

But any place where he could lay.

He searched for a Doorway nearby

A place for him to rest and Lie.

He found a doorway rude and bare

And decided he would stay there

He huddled against a creaking door,

And shivered involuntary, from the icy floor

He hunched his knees up to his chin

To try to keep some warmth within

In deep despair he stared into space

And hoplessness showed in his face

He closed his eyes, to try to sleep,

But felt the coldness in his feet

His mind drifted back to his earlier life

And he remembered his Beautiful Wife

    Mary was his lovely Bride

And she was always by Jims side

They Pledged their love for ever and ever

And for many years they were together

Then life became a bitter pill

When mary became so very ill

Jim stayed with Mary night and Day

To try to ease her Pain away

Then mary finally lost the fight

And slipped away that very night

Jim took to Drinking the wine all day

For it helped to take the pain away

He lost his home and all he had,

But his love for Mary never flagged

    He thought of Mary constantly

She wa always in his reverie

But now the cold began to bite

And he wondered if he would last the night

    Then suddenly, a shimmering light,

    Surrounded him, so very bright,

It grew brighter like a Rocket Flare

Then he saw his mary standing there

She looked so young, and her dark hair,

shimmered in, the cold night air

"A dream, "he thought "Thats what it is",

Then suddenly, her hand touched his.

The years then melted from his frame,

And Jim was a young man once again

mary raised him to his feet

And they embraced on that cold dark street.

Morning came, and the clatter of feet

Echoed down that cold grey street

    Workers hurrying didn't glance

At the old man, lying all askance

But if they had troubled to slow their pace

They'd have noticed the smile on Jims face

His smile showed death was not in vain

For he was together with mary again.

  • Plagiarizing troll. Those are Jamie Lidell's lyrics.

  • I do not think it is "caffeinated WIDOWS," but windows. It is nice, but stolen.

  • Benny is correct... there is falseness here. It is not your poem..

  • thats really cute.
