class room appropriate?
i have a 3rd grade class, and next week on the 13th we get out for christmas vacation becuase it is a catholic school. I want to give them a break on the 13th and let them watch a christmas movie, i dont know which to pick.
1. ELF
2. HOME ALONE
3. A CHRISTMAS STORY
4. THE GRINCH AND CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS
5. A CHRISTMAS CAROL
please tell me which one you would show and why. Also is it a good idea to show all of them that week and have a movie marathon? i would still give them some work to do but should i show all of them

I would show The Grinch and Charlie Brown Christmas.
There are important moral lessons in these two cartoons that the children woould benefit from.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is especially appropriate because of the beautiful proclamation of the Birth of Jesus from the gospel that Linus does.
I think that showing the Grinch and Charlie Brown would be very appropriate for this age group. You could also devise lesson plans based on the shows and have the students learn from them. Not to mention that by showing two shorter pieces, it will look like you are rewarding them double.
Home Alone is a great movie. Instead of showing all of those, you should just play all the Home Alone movies.
