Do I deserve a baby shower?
I have a 5.5 yr old from a previous marriage (a boy) and am expecting another baby. This is my husband's first child and he's excited, plus its his parents first blood grand baby. His family are all up North and cannot come down. Our church wanted to throw us one but that fell through because they claim they can't get everyone together, which really upset/hurt my feelings. Then they said they wanted to give us money for the baby but we really don't need anything, just wanted the fellowship. I'm due between 2-7/2-16 and am already having contractions. Do I need a shower? My friend is having 3 alone. I am having another boy.
Update:I dont have many friends and I am on total bedrest too.

hold a WELCOME to baby party, after the birth
Nobody 'deserves' a shower.
A baby shower is something that is given, VOLUNTARILY by a friend or non-immediate family member of the mother-to-be, as a way of showing affection and providing the mother with a few small gifts to help her out.
If you have no friends who want to give you a shower, you don't have a shower.
If you have friends, and just want to get together with your friends, then invite them next Sunday to your home and hold a mini-shower.
