Math Problem . Give you extra points . please !?

Megan is using an equilateral triangle as part of a design on a sweatshirt. Each side of the triangle is 12 inches long. Megan is sewing a line from the midpoint of one side of this triangle to the opposite vertex. Approximately how long will the line of sequins be ?

Comments

  • let the line of sequins=h

if h hits the midpoint of the side opposite the vertex, then it bisects that side.

each side =12 so the side is cut in half to equal 6. u now have a right triangle u can use to find h because h^2+ 6^2=12^2

then u just solve for h and in the end you get 6radical(3)

sorry if its confusing it's be easier to understand if i could attach a diagram :/
