Is Pimlico/Victoria a safe neighbourhood ?
Hi,
I am moving in London in January and looking for a flat. I heard that the borough of Westminster is one of the most dangerous neighbourhood. As Victoria is part of City of Westminster, do you still think that living in Victoria/Pimlico is not safe either ?
Chelsea is supposed to be the safest, however it is the most expensive as well. I don't think living there would be affordable for me
Cheers
Julie
Update:And also, suggestions of safe neighbourhoods in London are more than welcome :-)

The Pimlico area would be safer than Victoria, but it's not that bad either. However I think you should be looking wider afield, London's a big place.
Is Pimlico A Good Area
Victoria's fairly safe, hon, but I couldn't tell ya much about Pimlico, I'm afraid. And, for the record, there are no "safe" areas of London, although some parts of London are safer than others. Kensington and Chelsea and Greenwich, for instance, are fairly safe. Edmonton, (where I come from), and Tottenham, Bruce Grove and Seven Sisters, on the other hand, AIN'T! In fact, hardly anywhere within about five square miles of where I come from's what you'd call "safe", I'm afraid, luvvy! In London, (just like in any other big and busy city), just stick to the main roads, avoid any unknown dark backstreets like the bloody Black Death, and keep yer wits about ya at ALL times, and ya should be fine, my sweet! Peace and love! Be lucky!
Victoria and Pimlico are extremely safe areas by London standards and very central. Just don't cross the river to Vauxhall
Westminster, dangerous? No way, it's one of the most prestigious boroughs in the city. I would personally suggest somewhere like North East London (Harrow, Barnet, Brent and Camden).
Look at a map. Westminster is vast. You can not make such sweeping statements.Pimlico is fine, but pricey! If you are willing to look further out try Putney, Barnes etc to the SW.
Purchase insurance for your dog. Show that insurance anywhere you look at rental homes. If your dog (don't remember all the breeds on the list, but pitbull is one of them) bites someone, the landlord's insurance will not cover it. If you have no insurance, the person who got bit will sue the landlord and win. The landlord could lose his house. If you were a landlord - would you rent to people with dogs on that list?
look on the other side of the river around the southfields area. its real comfortable there and pretty safe as london goes
