Is it pronounced "shi-nade" or is it "si-nade". I don't think it's the 'sh' sound.

It is shi-nade. In Gaelic as well as in Welsh, 'si' is pronounced 'shi', as in the name Sian (pronounced 'Shaan') or 'siop' - Welsh for 'shop' and pronounced the same.
