  • make sure to back up ur files either into ur email (great place to put it in or on a flashdrive)

----> Make sure you know how the connection (Internet) on that pc is set up and and you know how to configure it.

-----> IF its a GAMING comp, make sure that you comp can handle enough watts for the graphics card otherwise ur graphics card will heat up and will be distorted mechanically.

-----> make sure that the part are compatible

  • great question, im sure u have researched your parts and that they are all compatable and supported ect. the first thing you should do is boot into your bios, you can check all your settings there and make sure they correspond with the new hardware that you have installed.

But as far as the operating system is concerned, you can try to boot into windows7, if you kept the motherboard and hdd and just changed the ram and videocard you may be fine, and on first boot it will install the drivers.

Worth a boot i guess, but don't be alarmed if you have to format your computer, I would it will be faster and more responsive neway. :)

yeah your going to have to format it, but don't worry because windows 7 will more than likely install all your drivers through windows update in the optional update tab :)

    hope that helps :)

  • The likelihood your components in your new machine is not the same as whats stored on your old hard drive...however if you boot from the CD/DVD with the Windows 7 disc and let it do a complete new "fresh" install it should erase everything on your old drive...including your data which you should have saved to a disc first......so you can install the new drivers and utility's that came with the new mother board. then reinstall your programs, then your data.
