Amazon item isn't as described?

I ordered a NEW textbook on amazon. When I received it, there was highlighting, underlining and writing. It's supposed to come with an access code that's not used. I haven't tried it yet, but if it was used, can I complain to the seller and amazon about it? If I wanted to keep the textbook, can I ask for a some money issued back to my account since item was not as described or will I have to just get a full refund and return the book?

  • most likely you got a used book obviously but you can return/exchange it an get another one no problem.

  • I would contact the seller and make your proposal. The sellers I've bought from are usually really nice, and this might be the case with your seller. They may be very surprised and sorry they accidentally sent you a used book and may try to resolve this matter with you. However, if you meet with delay, resistance or negativity then simply follow the Amazon steps for a refund.
