You'll feel crappy and can't get over the feeling. You don't always know the reason. I have been in and out of feeling depressed and it's no fun. I know that if it lasts for too long, you should see a professional. You need to smile, laugh, be happy. If you don't, then I think you're in trouble.
People gets feeling "low" sometimes. People who are not depressed can cope with the pain, "low" mood. They have coping resource to counter balance the pain. Maybe sometimes over time, sometimes distraction...it's different for each person.
But the people who can't get out of "low" mood is often described as "depressed". Their coping resource for pain is just not working as well as other people.
STOP... breath.. go out and enjoy life with friends.. i know its hard.. don't get in that obsticle. BUt to answer you Q. when your down..cry easyily or sad alot, nothing seems fun.. stay in bed.. sleep or eat alot.. don't eat.. no interest in life.. not many people around..

You don't want to get out and do things.
You seclude yourself.
You want to be alone.
You are unhappy with most things.
Please see a Dr. It is an illness that must be treated before it gets worse.
There are great treatments and it's unhealthy to avoid them.
