LGBT pride parade NYC?
I'm hoping to go this year with a friend. I'm 16. Do you think it's a good idea at my age? My friend told me she thinks you should have to be older to go, but I thought these parades were family friendly... I mean it would be awful for the lgbt community's image if it wasn't.
What are your experiences at these parades? Do you think I should go?
Update:Haha, of course I'm comfortable with homosexuality! I'm going to the pride parade after all.

I would say it depends how open you are to sexuality. There is a lot of sexual images and things like that. the pride parades are about showing off your pride in who you are and your sexuality. So no, it's not hurting any images about the community. They are taking pride in their sexuality something that even homosexuals can can learn from. It's definitely not something for prudes. With that said, if you feel uncomfortable with homosexuality and sex then I would wait until you are older and are more open.
I went to the Long Beach one last month and people had their kids there that were at least 6 years old
i'm in want of it because it really is relaxing and loopy type of like making relaxing of ourselves via being "on your face!" about previous stereotypes. also, facilitates us now to not sense ashamed of ourselves. on the different hand, some human beings outside the community are freaked out and positioned off via delight Parades... so it perchance does harm our reason truly. yet i'm nonetheless in want of them.
Yes, that's fine. I feel safe there. My friends have been going unsupervised since they were 14.
i want to go. but my homophobic parents would flip. lol it's kinda an inside joke with myself that I turned out to be lesbian...
I've never been but I've kind of always wanted to go to one!
Direct them to the word of God
Note esp. the last verse below:
1Cr 6:9 Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality,
1Cr 6:10 or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.
1Cr 6:11 Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
