What professions do you respect?

Like maybe not respecting the war but still respecting the soldier.

  • Thinker,

I respect ALL professions, regardless of what it is.

The housekeeper at my hotel who has a family to support and she is working her fingers to the bone.

The factory worker who makes sure that I get my expensive widget despite the fact that they get little pay.

The flight attendants who have to put up with bitches like me.

The cops who put their lives on the line.

I even respect lawyers, because of...uhm...they...give me a few and I'll come back with a reason.

I respect engineers because I am one, and I know what it took to become one.

I respect models because they can walk in heels.

  • Always respect and pray for the soldier no matter how we feel politically!! I have respect for anybody who goes out and puts in an honest day of work and earns an honest pay ... legally of course... cause no matter what the job is, its usually a need for all of us.. like the garbage collector... might not seem like a high class job, but without em we sure would have one big messy and smelly city...and what about the lowest health care nurse on the pole, having to wipe the butts of our older and or handicapped relatives cause we dont wanta do it... in fact the more i think about it i think i have more respect for the individual that goes out and does the stinky smelly jobs that nobody else wants to do....by the way i think i have less respect for the white collar worker..

  • Nurses, firefighters, builders/craftsmen, artists, writers, musicians, (the real kind, no posers for the last 3 professions please) and cooks - people who actually perform a function, take years to acquire skills that they have, and then use everyday. Their work directly benefits society, and they are connected with a definable and useful product.

None of these are big money professions except for building, but they are all worthwhile pursuits and are worthy of respect.

I do respect cops and soldiers as well, although sometimes their efforts are wasted/misdirected.

  • Civil servants, those who work for the public, bust their butts knowing they'll never be rich, move forward all of local, state, and federal governments, clean up the messes of the public's elected representatives, take the blame for those elected officials' acts of stupidity while giving the politicians credit for what goes well, and in general provide the infrastructure and social services required for society while being unappreciated by the general public that they serve. I respect those people a lot.

  • Firies, law enforcement officers And Ambos Plus The Volunteers Of The SES (State Emergency centers)... Mountain Rescue, Air Sea Rescue, Cave And Mines Rescue... You Get the image Darling (each and all of the Hero's Like huge Al)... Have A Grouse Day Honey Bunny XOXOXOXOXXOXOXOXOXOX ;P

  • Prison Officers, most are hard working very professional people who work in a really bad environment.

Soldiers, those who give without thought to preserve us.

Nurses, The unsung frontline heroes who are often forgotten.

  • architecture and enginneering- think of how every building, car, aircraft etc is the prduct of these professions. they actually improve the quality of our lives- not like lawyers who just grab money all the time

  • anything that requires a lot of thought and hard work. Usually these are the higher waged jobs

  • Social workers, especially those who have to deal with the challenged or problematic people.

  • I respect lawyers, doctors and engineers.A lot of study and effort....
