Are America's days as a superpower fading?

Will the USA's system crash like the USSR's in the eighties. I think China is rapidly becoming the biggest superpower and America will lose out. I think that each country will not use the nuclear bomb until really pushed. If push comes to shove, I genuinely think that a war will break out between the USA and China. The USA is rapidly losing it's status as the world superpower. China, at the minute is at the top of it's game with technology, weaponry and gross income. If you look at the labels on many of the products you but you'll see 'Made in China.' As well, China is under very strict Communist law. It is a Police State, not the worst Police State in history but still a Police State. Crime is low and the population support the Chinese system. I think we must be afraid of China my friend. America's days are over

  • It may be fading, but it is not as apparent as China's rise. I think that's what you and I are seeing. China's rise provides a counter-balance to USA's dominance in foreign policy. For quite a while, USA has been unchallenged, but now comes China that has the guts to say "no, we aren't doing it that way" to USA.

With China not conforming to USA's demands, we are seeing USA's influence fading.

I don't think we should be afraid of China. I think co-operation between the two countries will only slingshot each other forward. China is a great economic opportunity for the USA. We can sell them all kinds of technologies and stuff. By 2025, China will put 350 million people into the city because farming has gotten more and more efficient.

350 million people is one worth of USA infrastructure to be built by 2025. This means roads, cars, pharmaceuticals, medicines, electric grid, buildings, architecture, traffic engineers, subways, restaurants, food, whatever whathaveyou. And that is only 350 million people. The other 2/3 will be coming in the next decade. That's another 2 sets of US infrastructure waiting to be built.

China is building 1 Chicago per week. I would have the US improve our education here, spend on R&D and innovate new technologies, so we can sell them to China and India ( India needs to build 80% of its infrastructure by 2035),

  • People said similar things when Carter was president and doing everything imaginable to weaken the usa, but we bounced back under Bush (HW) and Clinton. I have no doubt we can bounce back now.

China's Communist economic system is a disadvantage for them in the long run and will eventually lead to their demise like it did for the USSR. When people eventually lose the incentive to go to years of schooling to becom lawyers and doctors, or lose the incentive to work harder to move up in a company, the economy will crumble. Why work harder and learn more to make the same amount as a janitor or fast food cashier?

  • If America fades, it will be our own fault. We've not only allowed the UN to tell us what to do, but the federal gov't has participated in enforcing Agenda 21, with the public mostly unaware of it. China, OTOH, has taken advantage of their developing nation status to do what they want.

  • If the U.S. were to crash today it would take China down with it. We buy most of their leaden plastic crap, and the own a sizable chunk of our foreign debt

Also, China is communist in name only. It more resembles Pinochet's Chile. there are many Pinochetists here in the U.S., so fear of such is rational indeed

  • I am also afraid so. Our politicians have for years only are concerned with buying votes. Due to this, we are now in debt so far we may very well tumble.
