HELPPPfix system32?

i have a targa pc, and i just restored it all, and when i switch it on i get the message:

windows could not start because the following files is missing or corrupt

\windows\system32\config\system then:

you can attemp to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cd-rom

select 'r' at the first screen

so, i put in the cd and turned the pc back on, and press r. nothing happened and within seconds i was returned to the same error screen.

i cannot even get onto my computer!

can someone please help?

my computer is a targa one.

    Then first thing you should try is to do a system restore. See if you can get into Safe mode. When the computer is starting, press F8.

    i dont think to do this you would want to use the restore disk, you would want the straight up XP Home disk, pop it in an repair, usually doesnt work to well but try
