Mpg is important but not super important. When i look for mpg for this truck i get different answers. If you own one do you reccomend it and how much MPG did you get

  • The fuel economy depends on the configuration. The 4wd trucks with the 3.4L don't do as well on fuel as the 2wds with the 2.4L. A carefully-driven 4wd with the 3.4L can usually almost reach 20 mpg overall. The 2wds can get into the mid-20s.

They're certainly reliable platforms. If you get one with the 3.4L, make sure the timing belt is replaced about every 90,000 miles. The 2.7L and 2.4L engines use chains that usually don't need to be replaced.

Although you might not think that MPG is very important, it makes a big difference with operation cost. I used to use a Toyota 4wd as a primary vehicle but that was back when gas was $0.91/gallon. Now, I much prefer driving smaller cars. I find trucks to be pretty tiring to drive. They kind of beat you up after a while.

  • I agree with what grant said, you can NOT go wrong with a toyota, just about the nearest thing to invincible in a vehicle I can find

  • You can't go wrong with a toyota. You can potentially reach the 20's MPG wise, and you get a good reliable truck.
