Is Pom Squad A Sport?
People at my school have been debating, if pom squad (which is...sort of like dancing) and I don't know which side to chose. We go to a small school, and we don't do all those crazy moves some pom squads in big towns do.
FOR IT: Poms may not be considered a sport here just becuz we dont do as challenging moves as some other squads do, BUT all of you who are in speech and drama have NO ******* ROOM TO TALK!!! First off you arent even in a sport so where the **** do u get the right to tell us that it isnt a sport?!?!?! Secondly, Mike, i have no problem with you at all, but that comment was not ******* necessary. We do not sit on our asses and do nothing. We work out butts off. Most of you dont even know becuz you dont dance and so therefore you have no right to say anything. Okay. Dancing takes every muscle in your body to move!!! I mean yeah it might not be as difficult for us as it is for bball players n stuff but we do work hard and we do deserve to get rewarded n letter for poms. So ya'll can shut the **** up. thank you
AGAINST IT:Seriously, why do people always say it is? Just because they "compete" does not mean they're in a sport. I think thats some of the dumbest **** I've ever heard. Honestly, if pretending to smile and memorizing dance moves is a sport, than speech must be an olympic ******* event. I'm tired of hearing the excuses "but you dance! thats athletic!" No. That's wrong, I have to memorize dance moves and sing at the same time for plays and the like and I have zero grace, yet I can dance quite well. And if I can do it, a chimp could be trained to. So why should a group of cheerleaders cheering for themselves be held higher than FFA or a group where students actualy do something? I'll tell you why, it's because our school ******* blows.
