I NEVER take a class without checking ratemyprofessor.com first.
You will find one or two students who rate a professor very, very low in every review. If more than 10% of the replies are unfavorable, it's best to choose another teacher.
Accuracy? About 90%.
It's very helpful, but don't base your decision solely on it. Also check out MySpace. They have a rate your professor section.
