Da Vinci Code Hypothetical...?
Many people have read the Da Vinci Code. It is a decent read. It's based on a theory that jesus was married and had a child/children. My questions is:
Supposing this is so, does that mean that jesus was infact mortal? If not does thay mean that god has a bloodline on earth?
Update:HYPOTHETICAL!!!!!!
Comments
Of course Jesus was mortal. It's just stupidity to think he was the son of God.
God doesn't exist.
I would not call "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" a theory, it's barely even a hypothesis. It and the series of other books from the same authors are notorious for making a plausible case based on misinterpreted, unrelated evidence.
If we assume that Jesus actually existed, merely the fact that he died shows that he was mortal. Since the Bible doesn't mention, one way or the other, a wife or children then they are irrelevant.
Edit:
The NT doesn't say either way whether he had a wife or not. At his age, it would have been very strange if he was unmarried and would have been remarked upon. Similarly, none of the disciples' wives were mentioned either. The only thing that we can draw from this is that these women had no significance to the events recorded.
jesus was mortal because he died. And the Da Vinci Code is labeled under fiction? Why, because the author said so. Now stop thinking it's real.
Read all of the other questions on this.
Never never never base your opinions/thoughts on novels that are written to sell copies.
"The Da Vinci Code" is fiction. I repeat, FICTION!
This is only interesting to believers, I'm afraid.
