Depends on how bad your teeth are. I'd say the first day is...pretty painful to be honest. It's not like an "OUCH" kind of pain, it's more of like that sore buzzing feeling. My best comparison is like getting punched in the jaw, except you don't feel the punch, you just feel the soreness afterwards.
It stops after a few days and then it won't hurt at all unless they do some drastic tightening during one of your visits. And even then it doesn't feel as sore as the first day.
My first visit was a 4, and the night of/next day was a 9 (TAKE TYLENOL, use NUMBING STUFF! I didn't, and that was my mistake.), and after that it didn't really hurt at all. Just a tiny bit sore occasionally. Good luck!
I currently have braces and so does my daughter. We got them the same time. For me as an adult when I first got them on I would say on a scale from 1-10 I would say it was about a 6. My daughter's mouth didn't hurt that much, about a 4. BUT after having braces for 7 months I got power chains. Now those I am sad to say hurt, about a 12 after I get them put on. And maybe about an 8 a few days after. Hope this helps you.
On my scale is 1-3 mine did not hurt much, when it came time to use rubber-bands I always doubled the bands most of the time. There was some times when I could not doubled them due to the pressure during the months I have doubled to move my teeth much faster my braces came off after 11 months I didn't even have them on for one year and the dentist told me I would have them on for about 2 years.
Most of my teeth where all crooked and had to removed 3 teeth before braces were put in to make room for my teeth when they straighten out
really im getting them also ^,^ im reading about it..because im superrr nerves but everybody is different it might hurt some people 5-10 it might hurt others 2-10 or 100000-10 lol but don't think about it like i am im thinking how i would be able to change the rubber bands colors and mismatch them and all that and how my teeth are going to be superr healthy and beautiful after which u should also prefer thinking of....... good luckk on ur future beauty and have fun with them
