Midland video camera problem!!!?

Okay so I have the Midland XTC-205VP2 video camera. I know how to turn it on and off and I HAVE checked the FAQ page on their website. To no avail, I cannot seem to get it to record. The red light flashes indicating that I don't have a micro SD card in. I have tried 3 different micro SD cards yet they all don't work. can someone please explain to me in detail how to work it!!! im dying here.

  • Hi "Haze":

The problem is most-likely the size (in Gigabytes) of your MicroSD cards being too big (larger than 32Gb), or the speed Class being too slow (less likely). Or, you simply didn't format the MicroSD card with the camera first, before attempting to shoot. (There's an SD card re-format button next to the card slot.)

If you aren't using a name-brand MicroSD card (SanDisk, Lexar, Hitachi, Panasonic, Sony, etc.), I'd switch brands. Listing the brands & specs of the 3 you've tried would be helpful info to list in your Question.

We also don't know if the 3 cards you tried were already used in other gadgets. If so, they need to be erased & totally re-formatted (ideally, using the Midland XTC camera's re-format function). Otherwise, the camera won't find its special "100COACH" folder.

Here's the link for the PDF manual from the Midland Radio Corporation website, which shows the re-format button & talks about the "100COACH" folder needed on the MicroSD card: http://www.midlandradio.com/Resource_/OwnerManual/...

    hope this helps,

P.S. @Stan: There are THREE different LEDs on the XTC-200 series. The battery LED and the SD card LED are two different things. They flash for two different reasons. But, yes, young Haze needs to format his cards with the camcorder itself. --DC

  • READ THE MANUAL!!! The flashing red light means the battery is very low. The battery must be fully charged to format the card and the card must be formatted in the camera to use it.
