  • You were right the first time.

Transvestite is latin and "trans" means "cross", and "vestite" means "dress".

A transvestite is just another term for cross-dresser. It usually refers to a person who is a serious cross-dresser.

A transgendered person is an umbrella term including all sorts of cross gender activity.

A transsexual person is a person where the biological gender and the mental gender cross. Like a woman trapped in the body of a man. A man without his manhood would be a post-op transsexual.

  • It is an outdated term for cross-dresser. A transvestite generally prefers the feel and look of women's clothes. It might or might not have to do with masculitity, so he does not have to be gay to be a transvestite

  • Transvestite = An outdated term for a man who cross-dresses.

  • your half right

a transvestite is some one who dresses and lives as a person of the opposite sex whereas a cross dresser only does it occasionally

  • A person who dresses and acts in a style or manner traditionally associated with the opposite sex.

  • Yeah basically a crossdresser. A transexual is someone who has had a surgery to change their gender.

  • A transvestite is a man who dresses like and behaves like a woman. He usually works in the red light district providing sex to gay customers.
