How do I describe a very technologic scene?

My book is set in the year 2060, where everything is incredibly advanced. The problem is, I have ran out of ideas on how i can nicely describe some scenes.

Scene 1:

A character is cooking up something, so he needs ingredients. The fridge is very technologic, it lights up and shows you a variety of ingredients (pops up) and you point to it. And they will prepare you ingredients immediately.

I AM AT A LOSS OF HOW TO DESCRIBE! PLEASE HELP!?

  • Frankly, I'd make the refrigerator one that shows a 'pop-up' menu... instead of ingredients ...so the protagonist can just point to what he wants to eat... since the fridge prepares the meal anyway.

  • If your fridge prepares ingredients, it must be a combination fridge/stove and storage unit. As such, and as this is very techologic, it would make more sense to have images that the 'cook' could point to and the machines would assemble the ingredients, cook them and present them. It would be easier if the foods were artificially created as well, so refrigeration in the modern sense wouldn't be necessary - a supply of protein, carbohydrate and fat, along with minerals and vitamines, could be combined to make any given food.

Gosh - this is beginning to sound like my kind of kitchen!
